• Observation : the process should continue in 2017 with WSIS Forum in May, IFIP WCCE in Dublin and at some other activities from IFIP sides and with other international stakeholders as well (e.g. Unesco,…)
Digital Equity is defined here as Digital Divide + Non e-Participation (some people mean also e-exclusion or more positively e-inclusion)
At the IFIP Workshop TC9 WG 9.2 in Barcelona (3rd and 4th of March 2016 on
« Where is digital technology taking us ? Who is in charge ? » (have a look on the programme at the following link),http:/
You find among all the activities which have potential outcomes of this workshop, regarding the WSIS process during the next decade, the following project
« Fondamental prerequisites to put in action inclusive, sustainable and equitable for Information Societies » introduce a feaasible and effective way to get into the problematics rised by the WSIS Action Lines x SDG matrix http:/
With the project
« Fondamental prerequisites to put in action inclusive, sustainable
and equitable for Information Societies »
we introduce a feaasible and effective way to get into the problematics rised by the WSIS Action Lines x SDG matrix.
Effectively the above matrix is too rich and complex with plenty of dependant componants and we propose to keep in a first step (may be during the next 2 or 3 years) the key components with few but very importnat criteria. With this assumption we propose a simplify matrix to elaborate simple but concrete measures to bootstrap really the information SociatieS
In each cell of this matrix we will elaborate concrete actions to promote a good start of information societieS with different contexts, environmments, institutions, status of IT developpement, etc and using different ways and methodology fitting with various countries and their diversities. The same thing with technologies (slow tech, clouds,…) fiitting with diverse levels of enrolement / strategies in mater of IT integration for usge in the societieS.
The planned workshops will be as highly interactive as possible (not a sequence of lectures with one question at the end), with looking on concrete proposals and recommandations to push the stakeholders to act and measure the progresses on an annually base.
